Research Interest

1) Advanced Oxidation Process

Preparation and Characterization of semiconductor materials that can be catalytically activated by ultrasound and/or ultraviolet or visible-light radiation.

-Currently work is on-going to:

i)   Study chlorinated phenols (target pollutants)

ii)  Semiconductor materials that demonstrate band-gap energy that is nearer to the visible-light region.

iii) Experimentation with Ozonation process.

2) Adsorbent Technology

-Currently work is on-going to:

i)   Modifying commercially available activated carbons

ii)  Prepare activated carbons from waste materials using a novel process known as 'destructive distillation'.
